The Simpsons is one of the most successful television shows of all time. This show is considered to be the longest running American animated series. it started in 1989. There are 33 seasons of this show with episodes count of 718. This show is a depiction of the American life. The main family of this show is the Simpsons family. At the top of the family you have Abraham and Mona. Abraham has a son called Herb, but he is not the son of Mona. Abraham and Mona has one child together, his name is Homer. Homer is married to Marge and they have three kids together: Bart, Lisa, and Maggie

Weird Color

It was a smart choice to select the yellow color for the Simpsons. There might be different reasons behind this choice of color but mainly it was to attract attention as Matt Groening mentioned in one of the interviews. By avoiding the common color was used for characters and choosing the yellow instead to stand out, this made the show recognizable when someone is flipping the channels and they would know that this is the Simpsons immediately.

Abraham was born and raised in the old Country which is either United Kingdom or Ireland. He is known as Abe, Grampa Simpson, or Grampa. He is known with other names as well, but Grampa is the name usually used. He got married several times but he only have two sons: Herb, and Homer. Abraham in his youth served in both the army and the navy and even participated in world war II.

​Mona Simpsons in her youth joined a hippie movements and has been part of political activism. In one of the protests along with other activists they have been involved in ruining and destroying one of the facilities owned by Mr. Burns. As a result of this incident she became a wanted criminal and has been on the run for 27 years.

Mona returns to Springfield.

Mona returned to Springfield on three different occasions and during her last return she died.

First Return to Springfield.

First time she returned to Springfield it was to visit her son's grave. Homer has faked his death in order to escape from work. When she came to know of this information, she returned and meet her son for the first time after 27 years she spent on the run due to her crime. Homer was lying in his open grave when she accidentally fell into it. With this mother-son reunion homer came to know that his mother was not dead as he was told by his father. This reunion didn't last long as after awhile she was recognized by Mr. Burns and she was forced to run again and leave Springfield.

Second Return to Springfield.

Mona has left a secret message for her son in a newspaper to reunite under a bridge. This message has led to the second reunion for Mona and her son and caused he second return to Springfield. However, this reunion hasn't last long either thanks to Mr. Burns. This time she was arrested and went to trial. eventually she was able to escape with the help of her son Homer. This time she was believed to be dead as the bus she was riding fell off the cliff and burred under a rock avalanche. She managed to escape before the bus went down the cliff and this time also she managed to leave a hidden message for her son.

Death​​​

Although she spent most of her years on the run away from Springfield, she eventually died in Springfield during her third return. At this time Homer wasn't very interested to meet with his mother as he believed that she will abandon him again and he will be hurt when this happens. Sadly when he changed his mind with guilt feelings and wanted to apologize to his mother he found that she already died. In her will she requested to release her ashes exactly at 3:00 PM on the mountain she specified. Her wishes has been carried out by her son Homer.

Homer Simpsons is the only son  of Abraham with Mona. Homer is married to Marge and he is the father of: Bart (his eldest son), Lisa (the smartest among his children) and Maggie (the youngest of his children). Even though, he is one of the main characters of the Simpsons series, he was missing from some of the episodes of the show such as:

  • Making Faces.
  • Babysitting Maggie.
  • The Longest Daycare.
  • West Wing Story.

Homer's Career

Homer is incompetent at his job, his current occupation is working at Springfield Nuclear power plant. Homer work at this facility as a safety inspector. In the past he had worked multiple jobs. During his 20s he was working in Sir Putt-A-Lot's Merrie Olde Fun Centre. He tried to get a job at the power plant and failed, instead he went to work at a restaurant called Gulp 'n' Blow. Eventually he was able to get the job at the power plant after he face Mr. Burns.

While he is working at the power plant he left his job and worked as a hairdresser and also at some point he became a technical supervisor at the power plant but this didn't last long as he caused a gas leak and went back to become a safety inspector again.

Homer's love for food

Homer is more interested in food which is bad for his health, even when he tried to change this bad habit of unhealthy eating to more healthy diet he miserably fails after a short period of time and returned back to unhealthy food. He enjoys donuts and beer the most.

He also would be seen at the tavern drinking beer along with his friends.When he was at the age of 15 he lied and claimed to be 22 in order to get into a drinking contest. as a result of participating in this contest he wasn't able to go to school for almost a full month.
